A chain founded in 1958 by caravan enthusiast Sam Alper who, after visiting America on a family holiday, saw an opportunity in the roadside dining market.

Little Chef specializes in the "Olympic Breakfast", its version of a full English Breakfast, and "Jubilee Pancakes." The restaurants are located on A roads, often paired with a motel or a petrol station.

In 2013, Kout Food Group acquired 100% of the shares of the Little Chef Group and brands in the United Kingdom (UK). The acquisition included 71 Little Chef and 26 Burger King restaurants at 76 sites across the UK. Since the acquisition, Kout Food Group has reopened 12 more Burger King restaurants within the Little Chef portfolio.

The acquisition of the Little Chef Group marked the entry of Kout Food Group into the all-day breakfast and travel dining segments, an estimated £3bn market in the UK. 2014 was a year of consolidation in this iconic business and with that stability firmly re-established, Kout Food Group has exciting plans to revitalize the brand. Little Chef will benefit from a process of brand renewal in keeping with current trends, supported by traditional British values and maximizing the rich heritage of the brand.
